March 11, 2024 Looking forward to fleshing this site out more eventually, but I don't have a ton of free time right now. So let me give you a little info about me in the meantime! The first time in my life that I was able to access the internet on any sort of a regular basis, was the same time that I had discovered and fallen in love with Sailor Moon. So I dove into both of them together! Eventually, I was learning html for the express purpose of creating my own Sailor Moon fansites. You may have noticed the little Chibiusa gif at the bottom of the left sidebar over there, and that's my nod to early teenage me. Chibiusa was actually one of my least favorite characters, but the perfectly looping gif was always my favorite. Eventually, I grew beyond the Sailor Moon fansites, and started building my own site where I could blog and post photos from my life and travels. Those layouts often incorporated lyrics from Jewel or Poe. Two of my favorite artists at that time. As I became an adult, I needed a more professional website, and stopped designing them myself over the years. Plus, the rise of social sites like myspace and then Facebook really ended the need to keep up my own personal blogging site. These days, I've got a squarespace website for all of my needs as a singer, dancer, actor. But it's nice to have my own space again, where I can be as creative as I want, and share whatever I want, knowing it won't just disappear in a giant newsfeed, never to be thought about ever again. I'm really glad to be here and go on this nostalgic journey with everyone. Can't wait to make some new friends! |

March 9, 2024 Holy shit, I made a webpage. I spent several days trying to find a tool that would help do graphics or wireframes easily, since I'm so rusty. But I couldn't really find what I was looking for, so I finally decided to start from scratch, just to see where I'd get. I was up until 4am relearning HTML and CSS, and looking at examples of existing layouts I liked. I forgot how much I missed the puzzle that web design is sometimes. |
